Permillage vs Budget

Permillage is a value assigned to each unit during the initial evaluation of the building.

Usually, a building is assigned a total of 1000 units.

In cases where this is not the case — either because the sum of the permillage is different from 1000, or because part of the building is managed by a different entity — GC applies a simple proportional rule to normalize the total to 1000.

As a result, each unit will have two records:

  • Actual permillage
  • Weighted permillage

The budget distribution is based on the weighted permillage.

Correcting budget discrepancies

If you notice discrepancies in the budget distribution, you can force the system to use the weighted permillage. Follow these steps:

  1. In the building record, under the Billing tab, uncheck the option Manage Everything and click Save
  2. Open a unit record and click Save
  3. Validate the budget calculations

This ensures that GC will use the weighted permillage for proper budget distribution.
