If your sending account is Gmail, you can follow this simplified configuration process.
1. Enable Two-Step Verification
One of the requirements is to have two-step verification enabled.
(If it is already active, you can skip this step.)
- Access your Google account
- In the navigation panel, select Security
- Under “How you sign in to Google”, click Turn on 2-Step Verification

2. Generate an App Password
Go to Google Help Center and search for:
“Sign in using App Passwords”

Follow the option shown in the image below:
Once created, a password will be generated.
Copy it entirely (including spaces) — you’ll need it in the next step.
Click Done.

3. Configure in GC
In GC, go to:
Administration >> Email >> Sending Accounts
Add a new entry with the following details:
- Account type: Basic Authentication
- Server: smtp.gmail.com
- Port: 465
- SSL: Yes
- Username: your Gmail address
- Password: paste the previously copied app password
